Kelsey Lima, LICSW

Practice Owner, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

Kelsey Lima is a Boston-based clinician specializing in grief, anxiety, chronic illness, and international social work. She received her Master’s of Social Work degree at Boston University and completed intensive post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and multi-contextual trauma treatment. Kelsey’s modalities include CBT, Psychodynamic, Solutions-Focused and Emotions-Focused.

In addition to psychotherapy, she offers an array of global clinical social work services: home study assessments for foster youth abroad seeking kinship placement in Massachusetts; psychological evaluations for Asylum and Trafficking-Visa Applicants in conjuction with the Sanctuary Project and Physicians for Human Rights; social work program development. Outside of her practice, Kelsey provides pro bono mentorship to student clinicians across the country and teaches courses at Salem State University School of Social Work. Prior to private practice, Kelsey worked in adoption, child protection, a public health hospital specializing in the psychosocial implications of infectious diseases, and a Harvard Medical School affiliated cognitive neurology clinic.

Therapy with Kelsey is like a warm cup of Chai and the Bostonian kindness you didn’t know you needed. When she is not social working, she loves comedy, quality time with her people, watching true crime, Sunday suppers and sushi.
